Now there’s more information for parents faced with the fraught decision of choosing their child’s daycare.
The Ministry of Education has posted its inspection reports for child care centres and private home facilities on its website.
The Licensed Child Care website lists centres by city, postal code, age group, and name and shows whether they provide enough supervision and whether food, drink and medication are properly stored.
Inspectors also judge operators on cleanliness and safety of equipment and furniture and their practice of monthly fire drills.
Licensed child care centres were already required to display a hard copy of the reports on-site.
The province will update its website as inspections happen.
